DATE: May 12, 2007.
LOCATION: London, England.
SUBJECT: 'Star Wars' Stormtrooper in Westminster.
This is a SPONTANEOUS photograph. I did NOT get anyone to dress-up to pose for this!
I had an hour of free-time on the morning of May 12, 2007 before I had to return to our coaches for a tour, so I wandered over to the London Aquarium on the other side of the Victoria Embankment to see if it was free admission (it wasn't).
Lo and behold, the aquarium was apparently hosting a 'Star Wars' exhibition, so there were two people dressed-up as a stormtrooper and clone trooper parading on the promenade. A lot of tourists were posing with one or the other, and I personally couldn't resist the image of a 'Star Wars' stormtrooper with the Palace of Westminster in the background. It took awhile for the guy to be facing the right away, but there you go.
Again, this is a SPONTANEOUS photograph. There was no set-up or me personally arranging for a guy to get dressed-up. It was entirely due to chance, but hey, this is probably the most interesting photograph I took during my six weeks studying in England.
EDIT: After a spontaneous moment of inspiration, it has occurred to me that 'the british empire' would make for a more ironic title than the original 'stormtrooper of westminster' one. Excellent.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
